Help for the split time listThis text describes the contents of WinSplits Online's split time lists, as well as the concepts, colours and settings involved. The contents of the split time listThe appearance and contents of the split time lists is depend on the settings that are altered at the bottom of the web browser window. Using the default settings, a part of a split time list could appear like this: For each runner, position, name, club, finish time, time behind the winner and times and positions at each control are shown. There are two time rows. The upper row contains the split times, i.e. times between two subsequent controls, and the lower row contains the total times, i e accumulated times from the start to a certain control. In the example above, Gösta Björnlund of Katrineholms OK was noted for the time 4.32 between control 2 and 3, and the total time at control 3 is 12.25. The positions are displayed within parantheses next to each pair of times. Gösta has thus the fifth fastest split time, and the third fastest total time. A missing punch is noted by a hyphen. Information about time differences etc at a control is displayed when resting the mouse pointer over a split or total time for a while. The appearance of the split time list could be altered by updating the settings at the bottom of the page. Read more about this topic in the Settings paragraph below. ColoursColours are used to make certain information in the table appear more distinctly.
Sorting the listBy deafult, the list is sorted according to the finish times of the runners. Sorting may be made by a certain split time or total time as well. Click the leg or tot link in the column header of the desired control. You could also sort the list by another column by clicking its column header. The column that the list is currently sorted by is displayed on yellow background. SettingsThere are a number of settings at the bottom of the page. Let the mouse pointer rest at a setting to show a text about what that particular setting is about. When you have changed the settings, click the OK button to the right to update the split time list according to the changes made. Controls with time lossSome split times in the list have pink background colour. This means that the runner's time loss on such a leg is relatively large. In other words: a mistake has probably been made. The amount of time lost on a control is displayed when resting the mouse pointer over the split time for a while. This assumes that the >show extended information setting is active. Time loss calculation is most reliable for large classes, where the runners are relatively on the same level. The mistake conditions might have to be adjusted in order to achieve best results. Read more about mistake conditions and how time loss is calculated in the concepts list below. Concepts list
